Product Description
Y-type globe valves are used as an alternative to the high pressure drop inherent in standard globe valves. The Y-shaped design minimizes the flow resistance of the globe valve. The Y-type globe valve is designed so that the seat and stem are angled at 45 degrees to the line axis, providing a straighter flow path when fully open with minimal flow resistance. These valves are used for throttling during seasonal or start-up operations.
Y-type globe valve manufacturers recommend these valves for applications requiring high pressure and undesired pressure drop. With the Y-stop valve, this pressure drop problem is reduced and its location in the piping system is not restricted. These valves have a low pressure drop due to low fluid resistance. Wye globe valve stem and seat provide a straight flow path when fully open, helping to reduce fluid flow resistance.
