Application of high pressure three way valve
The high pressure three way valve provides a convenient, economical way to divert flow from one pipe to another. They are commonly used as bypass units in steam generators and process applications, where feedwater heaters preheat feedwater from feedwater pumps before being sent to boilers to increase the efficiency of steam generators. The bypass system consists of two high pressure three way valves, one installed upstream of the heater and one installed downstream. In normal operation, both valves are open, allowing water to flow through the heater.
If maintenance is required on the heater, it will need to be isolated using a bypass system so that maintenance can be performed without interrupting the boiler feed water. Quick shutdown prevents further damage to the preheater and maintains the boiler feed water supply. The system consists of two on/off valves located upstream and downstream of the feedwater heater, with two separate conduits connecting them. One conduit will feed water through the heater, while the other bypasses it.
