Globe valve refers to a valve whose closing member (valve disc) is driven by the valve stem and moves up and down along the central axis of the valve seat. It is mainly used to connect or cut off the medium in the pipeline on the pipeline, but it cannot be used for throttling. The right angle globe valve is a forced sealing valve, so when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve disc to force the sealing surface to not leak. When the medium enters the valve from under the valve disc, the resistance that the operating force needs to overcome is the friction force between the valve stem and the packing and the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force to close the valve is greater than the force to open the valve, so the valve stem The diameter of the valve should be large, otherwise the failure of the top of the valve stem will occur.

Right angle globe valve is also called angle pattern globe valve, shut off valve or stop valve. Such valves are usually small in size, such as 1/2″, 1″ or 2 inch shut off valve.

Installation Precautions

1. The installation position, height, and direction of import and export must meet the design requirements, and the connection should be firm and tight.

2. For all kinds of manual valves installed on the thermal insulation pipeline, the handle shall not be downward.

3. Visual inspection must be carried out before the valve is installed, and the nameplate of the valve should comply with the current national standard GB 12220. For the valve whose working pressure is greater than 1.0 MPa and plays the role of cutting off the main pipe, the strength and tight performance test should be carried out before installation, and it is allowed to be used after passing the test. During the strength test, the test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure, and the duration is not less than 5 minutes. The valve housing and packing should be qualified without leakage. During the tightness test, the test pressure is 1.1 times the nominal pressure; the test pressure should meet the requirements of GB 50243 during the duration of the test, and the sealing surface of the valve disc is qualified if there is no leakage.
