The lift check valve is a check valve in which the disc moves up and down along the axis of the sealing surface of the disc.
This type of valve is typical in applications requiring high-pressure service. Effective with a high-velocity flow, lift check valves can be installed either horizontally or vertically (in pipelines with an upward flow). Types of lift check valve include piston type and ball type. This type of valve can prove more leak resistant.
The structure of the lift check valve has many similarities with the globe valve, in which the valve body is exactly the same as that of the globe valve and can be used universally. The form of the valve disc is also similar to that of the globe valve. The upper part of the valve disc and the lower part of the valve cover are provided with a set of guide shafts and sleeves. The purpose of using the guide sleeve is to ensure that the valve disc returns to the valve seat accurately. A pressure relief hole is machined on the upper part of the guide sleeve of the valve cover. When the valve disc rises, the medium in the sleeve is discharged to reduce the resistance of the valve disc when it is opened. The lift check valve is reliable in action, but has a large flow resistance, and is suitable for occasions with small diameters.
