The rising stem gate valve is a valve that the closing member (gate valve) moves vertically along the axis of the safety passage. The gate valve can only be used for full opening and full closing in the pipeline, and cannot be used for regulation and throttling. Gate valve is a kind of valve that is widely used. Generally, cut-off devices with diameter dn≥50mm use these, and sometimes small-diameter stop devices also use gate valves.
Let’s talk about it in detail below, where are rising stem gate valves generally used?
1. Rising stem gate valves are generally used for power switch applications, and cannot be used for throttling applications.
2. Rising stem gate valves are generally installed on horizontal pipelines, and the valve stem is vertically upward. It can also be installed in vertical piping systems or horizontal piping where the valve stem does not pass vertically upwards.
3. For the application and development environment where the ambient temperature can exceed 260°C, it is recommended that the company choose a type of flexible or split wedge gate to prevent the wedge gate from being stuck due to thermal expansion. This kind of learning situation may not occur to us when the valve is cold closed and then hot opened.
4. When used for high-speed fluid (turbulent flow) or thermal cycle applications, the threaded seat ring should be locked on the valve body to reduce loosening.
5. After closing the rising stem gate valve, the stem should be turned slightly (1/8 to 1/4 turn) to release the stem load. This allows slight expansion of the valve stem without clogging or damaging the valve or affecting shutoff.
6. If the seat ring mounting lugs are removed, high integrity shut-off gate valves are suitable for hot water outlets or piping systems using soft iron.
7. The pumping station will not be limited by the site. There are many debris in the water, and the core position is easy to block the valve. You can use a flashlight to double the gate valve.
